The Story Behind the PyCon HK 2026 Logo

PyCon HK ·

The PyCon HK 2026 logo was designed by Mr. Jared Yeung, who has designed PyCon HK logos since 2023. Through this continuing collaboration, Jared understands the essence of PyCon HK: an open, welcoming, practical, and community-driven conference that brings together people who learn, build, share, and grow with Python.

For the 2026 identity, the PyCon HK team brainstormed several ideas with Jared before arriving at the final direction. The result connects the Year of the Horse, Hong Kong’s distinctive visual culture, and the Python community’s evolving role in an AI-driven world.

Theme and logo explanation

PyCon HK 2026: Code, Connect and Carry On

Showcases the resilience of Hong Kong’s Python community as it rides into the AI era. In the Year of the Horse, we highlight courage, speed, and direction—qualities we need to guide fast-moving technologies instead of being carried away by them.

The red, white, and blue colors in the logo echo the iconic carriage bag, a symbol of Hong Kong’s toughness, practicality, and ability to thrive through change. Just as that bag has carried stories of hard work and mobility, Python carries our ideas, turning code into real-world solutions in business, education, and everyday life.

This year’s PyCon HK is about “Code, Connect and Carry On”. We are riders, learning how to steer data, automation, and machine learning responsibly through Python. We leverage AI to build practical solutions. Data scientists, developers, engineers, analysts, educators, and students come together to share code, experiences, and best practices that keep people at the center of every innovation.

“Code, Connect and Carry On — in the Spirit of a Resilient Rider” is our call to honor Hong Kong spirit while embracing Python and AI as tools for creativity, problem-solving, and opportunity—moving forward, like a horse in full stride, into a human-centric technological age.
